The foreign Ministry admits that the US can use Georgia to strengthen the anti-Russian sanctions

MOSCOW, July 19. /TASS/. USA and the West in General can use Tbilisi to strengthen the anti-Russian sanctions, but it will have nothing to care about Georgia. This was stated by the official representative of Russian foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova in an interview with Georgian TV channel Rustavi 2. The text of the interview published Thursday on the website of the Russian depodesta.

“In the West there are powerful political forces that seek to preserve and strengthen the anti-sanctions, – said Zakharov. – While their motives may not have any relation to caring for Georgia. To think otherwise can only very naive people.”

“If Georgia will be referred to as the justification for sanctions, it will be a good opportunity for Georgians to think about it, do not use their country in a foreign geopolitical game? In fact, such a conclusion is,” said she. According to him, Georgia has practically become a element in the West’s “strategy of containment” in the black sea region and South Caucasus.

Zakharova recalled that recently one of the officials of the state Department publicly stated that the U.S. will “be arming Georgia to counter Russia”. “Georgian politicians should remember that to serve someone else’s geopolitical interests instead of national – a thankless and ignoble,” said the diplomat.
