Kosachev: the elite of the United States does not share trump’s intentions to improve relations with Russia


TOKYO, July 21. /TASS/. The intention of the President of the United States Donald trump to establish relations with Russia are not shared by the majority of representatives of the American elite and the head of the White house from fulfilling its mandate. This opinion on Saturday in Tokyo, expressed to journalists by the head of the Federation Council Committee on international Affairs Konstantin Kosachev.

“I think Mr. trump in his remarks in Helsinki was quite sincere when he talked about the intention of normalizing relations with Russia and moving them forward. Another thing is that these intentions are not shared by the majority of the American elite”, – he noted, answering the question TASS.

Kosachev stressed that the President of the United States is “under heavy pressure” and he “deliberately interfere to realize his presidential powers.”

“To predict how it will develop us policy towards Russia is almost impossible,” – he said. At the same time, Kosachev stressed that “Russian policy on the American direction has not changed: Russia is ready to cooperate with the USA” on any of the topical issues of the international agenda.
