Shvetsov: CBR has not received complaints on the accuracy of reporting of Transaero airlines

NEW YORK, October 7. The Bank of Russia has not received complaints on the accuracy of reporting of Transaero airlines, has declared to journalists the first Deputy Chairman of the CBR Sergey Shvetsov during new York session of Moscow exchange forum.

“There are two stories – the disclosure of reliable information and the audit of the financial statements, and violations should be punished most severely. In my opinion, today the distortion of the prospectus is criminally responsible. Here, the Bank of Russia, if such facts are revealed, be achieved within existing instruments that the perpetrators suffered”, – said Shvetsov.

According to him, if the company adequately disclosed its information and formulated a strategy and investors took an existing business is risk, and the company went bankrupt – this is normal. “To have the foreign currency leasing portfolio under conditions of double devaluation, I think few companies will survive,” said first Deputy Chairman of the Central Bank.

The airline “Transaero” is the second largest airline in Russia and the main Charter carrier with the deterioration of the economic situation in the country and the increase in the exchange rate began to experience financial difficulties. The company has been unable to provide its activity and to repay the debt.

The government originally discussed the option of selling 75% of package the airline “Aeroflot”, expecting that the largest carrier will be able to improve. However, the holders of shares of Transaero airlines at the time did not collect the stake and pulled the offer. Eventually, the company went to bankruptcy, the banks are pessimistic about the return of its funds. The carrier stops flights from the 15th of December. On October 6, already cancelled 33 flights, on October 7 – 32.

The Minister of economic development of Russia Alexei Ulyukayev said that bankruptcy “Transaero” is the only possible solution with the company.
