According to the draft law, a discount of 50% will apply to the fare in reserved seat and General cars of trains of distant following for children aged 5 to 17 years.
MOSCOW, 9 Oct. Russian transport Ministry proposes to establish in the course of the year a 50% discount for transportation in reserved seat and General cars for children aged 5 to 17 years, follows from the draft government resolution on the website bills.
Changes are proposed in a government decree, which said the subsidies “Federal passenger company” (FPC, “daughter” RZD) to compensate for losses in income due to the concessional tariff for the transportation of students and pupils of educational institutions over 10 years in General and the reserved seat wagons.
“The draft resolution stipulates the extension of the discount in the amount of 50% established by the state tariff for transportation of children aged 5 to 17 years inclusively in long-distance trains (passenger and fast) in General and second-class carriages on domestic routes of the Russian Federation from 1 January to 31 December of the current financial year”, — stated in the explanatory note to the document.
According to the document, 50% discount in the reserved seat and General cars of trains of distant following is provided to students and pupils of educational institutions over 10 years from 1 January to 31 may and from 1 September to 31 December.
Tickets in reserved seat and General cars for children from 5 to 10 years currently you can buy with discounts up to 65%. This benefit, said the representative of RZD, operates year-round.
