The Agency notes that the time frame is determined by competition electronics manufacturer with companies Tesla Motors and GM, each of which is planning by 2017 to produce an electric car that cost less than 40 thousand dollars and with a power reserve of 200 miles (about 320 km). Recently Tesla Motors announced that in the year 2025 will increase the number of sales to a few million cars from the current 35 thousand a year.
The Agency notes that the company may extend the period of project development or abandon the implementation, if Apple executives will be dissatisfied with the progress noted by the source Agency.
An Apple representative did not comment on the news on the development of the car, the Agency said.
Earlier edition of the Wall Street Journal, citing sources familiar with the project, reported that the company has involved several hundred employees to creating an electric vehicle under the brand Apple.
