The trouble started on September 21 at around noon Moscow time. Skype users have complained about its inaccessibility almost all over the world. Users could not change their status and communicate with contacts, and many could not enter the messenger. The service remained unavailable for more than ten hours.
The number of registered users exceed 500 million, and its monthly audience reaches 170 million users.
In 2011 Microsoft acquired Skype for 8.5 billion dollars.
