Aeroflot: the airline cancels flights 55 on 12 October


MOSCOW, October 11. The airline “Transaero” will cancel 55 flights on 12 October. About it reported in a press-service “Aeroflot”.

In particular, Transaero airlines cancels flights from Moscow to Saint-Petersburg, Novosibirsk, Irkutsk, Omsk, Krasnoyarsk, Mineralnye Vody, Novy Urengoy, Rostov-on-don, Blagoveschensk, Odessa, Karaganda, tel Aviv, Frankfurt, Berlin, London, Prague, Milan, Rome, Paris, Simferopol, Krasnodar and Kiev.

Problems with Transaero airlines

The airline “Transaero” is the second largest airline in Russia and the main Charter carrier with the deterioration of the economic situation in the country and the increase in the exchange rate began to experience financial difficulties. The company has been unable to provide its activity and to repay the debt.

The government originally discussed the option of selling 75 per cent stake of the airline “Aeroflot”, expecting that the largest carrier will be able to improve the company. However, the holders of shares of Transaero airlines at the time did not collect the stake and pulled the offer.

The tourist market participants fear that the problems with transportation of passengers may lead, including, to the bankruptcy of travel agents.

Total debt of “Transaero” to creditor banks together with leasing is about 250 billion rubles. Among the major creditors of the airline was called Sberbank of Russia, VTB, VEB, Gazprombank, credit Bank of Moscow, Novikombank, Otkrytie Bank, IFC and others.
