MOSCOW, 12 Oct. Russian banks in the third quarter of this year revealed 18,158 thousand counterfeit banknotes is 2.2% less than in the same period in 2014, according to information on the website of the Bank of Russia.
Leaders in the number of fakes were bills of the denomination of five thousand and one thousand roubles — 12,939 thousand and 4,727 thousand counterfeit banknotes, respectively. The banknotes of other denominations fake much less: in the third quarter of banks revealed 395 fake 500-ruble notes, 48 fake 100-Rublevo, 14 fake 50-Rublevo, seven counterfeit coins 10 rubles and 28 of counterfeit five-ruble coins.
The three leaders in the number of detected counterfeit banknotes make up the main Directorate for the Central Federal district (10,766 thousand), northwestern state University (2467 pieces) and South SU (1828).
