Russia repaid the balance owed under the obligations of the USSR to China


The Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation noted that the outstanding balance for the obligations of the USSR and the Russian Federation to China in the amount of 400,97 million Swiss francs was repaid on 24 September.

MOSCOW, 12 Oct. Russia repaid the outstanding balance for the obligations of the USSR and the Russian Federation to China in the amount of 400,97 million Swiss francs, said the Finance Ministry on Monday.

The debt to China in the amount of 451,13 million Swiss francs, most of which were the obligations of the USSR, which emerged in the framework of trade and economic cooperation with China had been resolved by an agreement between the governments of Russia and China, signed on 1 July 2005.

“In accordance with the aforementioned intergovernmental agreement, part of the debt of Russia towards China in the amount 50,16 million Swiss francs was repaid by the supplies of Russian industrial products, and perform research developments in the field of medicine, the other part — cash”, — stated in the message.

Debt repayment was September 24, but reported it only now.
