MOSCOW, October 13. JSC “Russian Railways” needs 22 billion rubles of subsidies from the state budget for 2016 when accounting for the growth of tariffs by 10%. About this informed the head of Russian Railways Oleg Belozerov at the working meeting in the state Duma.
“We have optimised next year our budget by 50 billion. This is a huge figure. We asked for a 10% rate and 75 billion rubles of funds for capital repairs on current operations. This has optimised the figure at 50 billion. Went on the 10% and 22 billion”, – he said.
“We assume that a certain set of reserves we have, but we believe that we don’t need to talk about subsidies, and we need to create conditions for normal work”, – said the head of Russian Railways.
Thus Belozerov has informed journalists that the decision on subsidies would be taken by the government of the Russian Federation.
Earlier, the Minister of economic development Alexei Ulyukayev told journalists that the final decision has not yet been issued, but with high probability of passenger tariffs will be indexed at 4%, cargo – by 10%. Be subsidized in 2016 will be only passenger transportation.
Prior to this, Railways has sought the government subsidy of 40 billion rubles, and the indexation of tariffs by 10% next year. The Minister of economic development Alexei Ulyukayev called these requests more realistic, but noted that the potential to reduce these queries still remains. Later Shuvalov told journalists that these settings can be revised.
