Astana and Moscow have discussed the obligations of Kazakhstan in accession to WTO


The co-chairs of the intergovernmental Commission on cooperation between Republic Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation Bakytzhan Sagintayev and Shuvalov discussed the issues of bilateral partnership, including in the field of fuel and energy complex.

ASTANA, 14 Oct. First Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Bakytzhan Sagintayev and first Deputy Chairman of RF government Igor Shuvalov discussed the implementation in the contractual framework of the EEU obligations undertaken by Kazakhstan upon accession to the WTO, said on Wednesday the press service of the Kazakh Prime Minister.

In late July, Kazakhstan signed the Protocol on accession to the world trade organization (WTO). Officially Kazakhstan will become a member 162 of the organization at the end of 2015, after the settlement of all procedural formalities.

According to the press service, the meeting Sagintayev and Shuvalov took place on Wednesday, on the eve of the state visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to Kazakhstan.

“The co-chairs of the intergovernmental Commission on cooperation between Republic Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation Bakytzhan Sagintayev and Igor Shuvalov discussed a wide range of issues of bilateral partnership, including in the field of fuel and energy complex, industry, atomic energy, transport”, — reported the press service of the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan.

“The meeting also discussed the obligations undertaken by Kazakhstan upon accession to the WTO, and their implementation in the contractual framework of the Eurasian economic Union” (EEU), — have informed in a press-service. The parties noted significant potential for enhancing mutually beneficial cooperation, including within the Eurasian economic Union.

AAAS is an international integration economic Union created on the basis of the Customs Union and the common economic space and functioning since 1 January. Now members of the EEU are Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.
