The Federal air transport Agency on 1 October sent “Transaero” notice of termination of sale of tickets for regular flights of the airline. Tickets “Transaero” back and forth with the beginning of transport until 15 December and ending after 15 December will be cancelled. The carrier 14 October sent a letter stating that “the refund will be carried out at the place of purchase”.
“The allegations that the agents should return the money to passengers “Transaero” on the basis that they received a Commission from the airlines, are not correct,” said faminskii. According to him, the refund procedure approved by IATA, provides the authorization process ticket return and a subsequent transfer from the airline to the Agency and, accordingly, the payment of its passengers in case of involuntary refund — the full value.
According to the rules of IATA, the money for the sold tickets go into the system of mutual settlements between the airline and global reservation systems — BSP, he said. “Airline “Transaero” has disconnected from BSP 1 October, respectively, from this point on, all financial settlement of the relations connected with the company were terminated. In addition, yesterday we received a clear mandate from IATA banning any statements, correspondences and registration returns for the airline “Transaero”, — said faminskii.
IATA sent on 2 October to all members of the ticketing system a letter about the exclusion of “Transaero” from the international system of payments “due to financial instability of the airline”. “All progress reports, including the pending sale and pending applications for refunds or any future transactions must be paid directly to the “Transaero”… that is, no refunds can be deducted from incomplete records… pending sales or any future transactions,” — said in the letter.
Transaero airlines has been unable to service debts, which form together with the leasing obligations of about 250 billion rubles.
