Iran has announced its intention to put its products in the EEU after Armenia


Armenian businessmen are more familiar with the Russian market, may be useful to Iran in the export, first Vice-President of Iran, Eshaq Jahangiri.

YEREVAN, 15 Oct. Tehran views Armenia as a platform for export of Iranian goods to the Eurasian economic Union, said on Thursday the first Vice-President of Iran, Eshaq Jahangiri, who is on visit in Armenia.

“The accession of Armenia to the EAEU opens a new window for the development of economic relations between the two countries. Armenia considers Iran as the only countries listed in the EEU, which can become a convenient platform for the export of Iranian goods to other member countries of the Union… This will allow the Iranians of its products to sell in Iran, and in Armenia and export to the markets of the EEU member countries,” said Jahangiri during the Armenian-Iranian business forum.

According to Jahangiri, Armenian businessmen are more familiar with the Russian market, may be useful to Iran in the export.

“Besides, Armenia plays an important role in the transit area. We have a corridor North-South, must also address the issue of construction of railway communication, which may be of regional significance. Iran is ready to implement these two programs. We must do everything to remove obstacles. We need to sign a number of programmes of mutual understanding in this direction,” he said.

Jahangiri noted that the availability of free economic zones and, especially, the existence of free economic zone “Aras”, also create positive conditions for the development of economic ties.

Jahangiri also said that he had already resolved the issue regarding the visit of the Armenian trade and economic delegation to Iran to participate in the business forum.
