“The bill introduced by the President of the Russian Federation, is an almost instantaneous reaction to the realities of life”, – said the Klintsevich.
MOSCOW, 15 Oct. A bill to ban recognition of extremist Scripture, which the President of the Russian Federation yesterday submitted to the state Duma, is an example of where the right stands on the side of common sense and stresses the equality of religions, believes the first Deputy head of the defense Committee of the Federation Council Frants Klintsevich.
The Bible, the Koran, the Tanakh and Gandzhur, their content and quotes from them can’t be considered extremist, according to the draft law.
“The bill introduced by the President of the Russian Federation, is an almost instantaneous reaction to the realities of life,” — said Klintsevich, adding that in fact, the right side of common sense, centuries-old wisdom of the peoples contained in the texts of the Bible, the Koran, the Tanakh and the Gandzhur. “This is the protection of the sacred texts against the fool”, — he said.
The bill ultimately works to strengthen state security, to prevent conflicts, that is, on an empty place, the Senator said.
“It is very important that it is mentioned by name in the canonical texts of the religions of the world, who confess the vast majority of Russians. Thus again is emphasized the equality of religions, and the state’s obligation to respect the free choice of its citizens for religious preferences”, — said the Klintsevich.
