Valery Markov was a Senator from the state Council of Komi


Regional office of “United Russia” announced that for the appointment to the post of Senator Markov 22 deputies voted, one abstained, two did not vote.

SYKTYVKAR, 15 Oct. Deputies of the State Council of Komi on Thursday voted for the appointment of Valery Markov Senator in the Federation Council of the Russian Federation from the legislative power in the Republic, the regional branch of “United Russia”.

“For appointment to the office of Senator Markov 22 deputies voted, one abstained, two did not vote”, — stated in the message.

Valery Markov, the United Russia — the champion among the deputies, he works in the state Council of the fifth convocation. Komi is known as a leader of the national movement “Komi Voityr”, and in the international community — as the founder and leader of the Finno-Ugric movement, heads the international Advisory Committee of Finno-Ugric Congress.

Markov was born 11 July 1947 in Koslan village, Udora district, Komi ASSR. Higher education, in 1972 he graduated from the physical faculty of Leningrad state University. A. A. Zhdanov, specialty – “physics”, candidate of physico-mathematical Sciences (1975).
