Russia has not yet been received from Iraq’s appeals for military assistance in the fight against banned in Russia by the terrorist group “Islamic state” (IG), however, prepared to consider it. On Saturday on the sidelines of the VI Tanshanskogo security forum said in an interview with reporters Deputy defense Minister Anatoly Antonov.
“I can tell you only that to date, cases from Iraq just as we have from (the Syrian President – ed.TASS) Bashar al-Assad, we don’t have. If it receives any treatment, they will be considered, naturally, in an appropriate manner,” he said.
“As goes a lot of insinuations against Syria, I would like to emphasize that we do have a written appeal of Bashar al-Assad on the provision of military and military-technical assistance in the fight against ISIL (formerly ISIS). And this is true, and we stress that we are acting on a legitimate basis and in accordance with international law”, – concluded the Deputy head of the defense Ministry.

The core group forming the militants, who fought with American troops during their stay in Iraq and with the forces of the government of Bashar al-Assad in Syria.
The IG recognized as a terrorist organization in the USA, Canada, UK, Australia, Turkey, Egypt, UAE, India, Indonesia, and Russia (29 December 2014).
