Formed in the band immediately joined 30 senators in total population of the Parliament in 170 people, said the first Deputy Chairman of Committee of the upper house of the Russian Parliament on international Affairs Vladimir djabarov.
RIGA, 20 Oct. The creation of a “friendship group” Latvia in the Federation Council — this is a good initiative, which was supported by 30 senators, told Latvian reporters on Monday the first Deputy Chairman of Committee of the upper house of the Russian Parliament on international Affairs Vladimir djabarov.
“This is a good beginning, because the Parliament always has something to say to each other, the more difficult in recent years, relations between Latvia and Russia. Parliamentarians can contribute to parliamentary diplomacy, establishing contacts between countries. Latvia is our neighbour. We would like that our relations were very constructive. We were pleasantly surprised that the group immediately joined 30 senators in total population of the Parliament in 170 people. It is a great honor for us. A very large group, apparently, we all miss Riga”, — said djabarov.
Lead a group of Committee member Igor Morozov, his Deputy will become the Deputy Chairman of the Committee on social policy, the representative of the Pskov region Alexander Borisov.
The group is created to strengthen the Russian-Latvian inter-parliamentary and interregional relations, said djabarov.
According to him, the Latvian parliamentarians have formed part of the group. The final decision will be taken at a meeting of the Federation Council on Wednesday, October 21.
