Russian parliamentarians have delivered humanitarian aid to Syria

MOSCOW, October 23. Representatives of the state Duma and the Federation Council delivered a cargo of humanitarian aid for children in Syria.

This was reported by telephone by the Deputy from the Communist party Alexander Yushchenko, which is part of the mission.

Besides him, the delegation includes MP from the Communist Sergei Gavrilov, member of the Federation Council Dmitry Sablin.

“We had a meeting at the border. – The purpose of our visit humanitarian. We brought about 3 tons of humanitarian aid, mostly baby food, the goods which will be sent to orphanages and to children of fallen soldiers,” – said Yushchenko from Syria.

According to him, the humanitarian aid will be distributed “through the religious leaders of Syria.”

Yushchenko also said that the planned meeting with the leadership of the country, the President of the Parliament, the Prime Minister to discuss the restoration of sovereignty, economic and political potential of the country. According to him, will also discuss prospects for development of Interparliamentary ties.

“We will be meeting with the Supreme mufti of Syria,” he added. As Yushchenko pointed out, the trip will last for several days, and the program will be very busy.
