The defense Ministry, according to the contract signed with US the Memorandum, discussing directly with the U.S. side to discuss security issues in Syrian airspace twice a day, or more frequently if emergency. He recalled that in order to prevent possible incidents with the planes of the international coalition led by the United States in the airspace over Syria the Russian defense Ministry has established cooperation with the American side “in strict accordance with the signed Memorandum”.
“Twice a day, and with emergency and frequently prescribed in this document is the scheme of direct contact in discussions of security issues,” – said Kartapolov.
Moscow and Washington signed an October 20 Memorandum on the prevention of possible conflicts between the armed forces of Russia and the U.S. in Syrian airspace. It applies to all types of aircrafts, it also applies to the partners of the United States acting in coalition.
The NATO satellites watching the situation in Syria
The military authorities of NATO countries and other States have all the possibilities to provide the world public the facts and documents on any action in Syria, instead of unsubstantiated blaming of the aerospace forces of the Russian Federation in indiscriminate attacks, stated Andrey Kartapolov.
“I once again appeal to our Western partners, who are trying to blame us for indiscriminate attacks. We know how in each moment of spacecraft and reconnaissance aircraft monitors the actions of the Russian air force in Syria. Therefore, if the military authorities of NATO countries and other States in the us want something to blame, they are able to provide concrete facts and documents, as we do,” said the representative of the Russian General staff.
