The decision, expected to contribute, inter alia, the consolidation of the population in the border communities, the increase in the number of small and medium enterprises, development of tourist and recreational potential.
MOSCOW, 6 Nov. The Russian government adopted the concept of development of border territories of subjects of the Far East, the corresponding document is published on the website of the Cabinet on Friday.
“The concept is aimed at creating conditions for sustainable economic development and social stability of the far Eastern border areas, the formation and development of competitive advantages of border territories of neighboring countries”, — stated in the explanatory statements to the document.
It is reported that the concept will be implemented in two phases: the first phase (2015-2016) will be conducted by different organizational activities and established an interdepartmental working group and approved the work plan.
In the second phase (2017-2025) “it is planned to implement regional programs of development of the far Eastern border territories, development projects of some border territories, the proliferation of pilot projects and best practices in the implementation of the Concept within the far Eastern border territories”.
It is expected that this decision will contribute to the consolidation of the population in the border communities, the increase in the number of small and medium enterprises, development of tourist and recreational potential, as well as the creation of new export-oriented high-tech industries and modernization of social and engineering infrastructure.
