MOSCOW, November 6. Public organization “Committee against torture” re-filed to the arbitration court of the Nizhniy Novgorod region the statement for own bankruptcy. This was reported in the trial transcript.
The repeated statement was registered at the court on 5 November. Previous bankruptcy on 2 October, the court upheld the motion, having determined to submit to the court a duly executed power of attorney and document confirming payment of state duty.
As previously explained member of the Council under RF President on development of civil society and human rights (HRC), the Chairman of the “Committee against torture” Igor Kalyapin, “1 August “Committee” ceased to act and, consequently, more to (it) by no means nobody listed”. “But we made three fine of 300 thousand rubles (for violation of the law on NGOs) and suppliers we do on a voluntary basis does not eliminate. So I had to go to court with the statement for bankruptcy”, – he said.
In January of this year, the justice Ministry has introduced the “Committee against torture” in the registry of NCOs performing functions of a foreign agent. In late July members of the organization decided to self-destruct and create a new inter-regional organization “Committee for the prevention of torture”, which will not receive foreign funding and exist on contributions and donations.
