A Memorandum on the program “oil in exchange for goods/services” was signed for a few years, so Russia tries to continue to carry out this program, said Russian trade representative in Iran Andrei Lugansky. He noted that the Iranian government confirmed earlier that the program works.
MOSCOW, 10 Nov. The program “oil in exchange for goods/services” between Iran and Russia has, however, the decline in world oil prices impedes its implementation, said in an interview with Russian trade representative in Iran Andrei Lugansky.
“The Iranian government last week confirmed that the program works. The Memorandum is signed for several years, so we are trying to continue to run this program”, — declared Luhansk.
Russia and Iran in August 2014 signed the Memorandum, including, in particular, the expansion of cooperation in the field of supply of machinery, equipment, consumer goods and agricultural products. Minister of energy Alexander Novak has previously explained that speech can go about helping in the sale of Iranian oil with sending the proceeds for the purchase of products of Russian companies.
“Oil from the time of its signing fell, this was an objective obstacle in order to sell Iranian oil for any markets. The program works, but so far no results,” — said Lugansk.
In addition, he noted that Russia responds positively to the proposals of Iran about how to use barter for avoiding payments in dollars. “However, it is very difficult to link agricultural producers in Iran with manufacturers of machinery and industry in the Russian Federation. If Iranians will supply us with cheese, fish, shrimp, it is possible to make a deal for mutual supply of trucks will be very difficult. In Russia it is a different industry and different companies,” — noted Lugansk.
“Those companies that buy Iranian apples, there is no interest to give Iranian rubles for the purchase of trucks. For them they have something to sell to Iran. For example, machines for sorting”, — he explained.
