MOSCOW, November 11. Question about a discount on gas for Ukraine for the first quarter of 2016 will depend on market prices. This was reported to journalists by the Minister of energy Alexander Novak.
“Everything will depend on the prices that will emerge on the market, it is difficult to say. Discount need to bring price back to market, so it will depend on the price formula and the market price based on conditions,” he said.
“We need – we buy, we don’t need – we don’t buy”
The head of the national oil and gas company “Naftogaz of Ukraine” Andriy KOBOLEV said on 10 November that the company will buy Russian gas only in case of favorable market conditions and as needed.
“We will pay for Russian gas as required. We need – we buy, we don’t need – we don’t buy. When we see conditions favorable, we buy. If we believe that the price will decline, then why buy now what will be next week cheaper?” – said Kobolyev.
The price of Russian gas for Ukraine in the fourth quarter of 2015 amounted to $227,5 USD per 1 thousand cubic meters.
