“I can confirm that, indeed, Russia at the APEC summit in Manila will be presented by the Prime Minister. The fact that the Prime Minister there were planned in the region South-East Asia, additional contacts, more visits, than, probably, will tell the government, and in this regard, from the point of view of optimization of schedules of the top management of the country, the President issued a decision,” Peskov said to journalists on Thursday.

However, he stressed that the head of state traditionally pays much attention to the issues of APEC, the agenda of the summit.

Earlier, Russian foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that Putin accepted the invitation of the head of the Philippines Benigno Aquino to take part in the APEC summit in November this year.
