Volkswagen launched the Assembly of the T6 vans at the plant in Kaluga


KALUGA, November 12. /Corr. Alevtina Zubrilina/. The Volkswagen concern has launched production of vans T6 at its automobile plant in Kaluga. In particular, the company will be SKD-Assembly of models Multivan, Caravelle, Transporter in various configurations, said Corr. in a press-service “the Volkswagen Group Russ”.

“Assembling commercial vans and Volkswagen vans in various configurations in Russia from imported from abroad details will speed up the process of transferring vehicles. Traditionally such machines have wide application in various industries, municipal institutions and organizations with state participation”, – said the press service.

The world premiere of the T6 generation was held in spring 2015 in Amsterdam. On 21 September the company “Volkswagen Group Russ,” received an act of expertise on procurement for state and municipal needs, issued by the chamber of Commerce and industry of the Russian Federation.

About the plans in terms of production and modernization of the production process of the plant in Kaluga, the company said.

The plant in Kaluga Volkswagen produces the Volkswagen Polo Sedan, Volkswagen Tiguan and Skoda Rapid. Production capacity is 225 thousand cars per a year. Kaluga “Volkswagen Group Russ,” has been producing cars since November 2007, the plant employs about 5 thousand people.
