Ulyanovsk should become an international center of business and culture, this goal is spelled out in the new strategy of city development till 2030, said the Governor of the Ulyanovsk region Sergey Morozov at the plenary session of the forum “Smart city of the future”, held Wednesday in MIA “Russia today”.
“The Ulyanovsk will build on his own success as a world center of business and culture. He will provide affordable, excellent quality and quick delivery of municipal services to the local community, neighboring counties and the region as a whole. It will be a city with good transport clean and attractive, healthy, safe, dynamic and culturally rich, accessible, and outdoor skills and capable of learning and development”, — said Morozov.
According to the Governor, the left front has the challenge of achieving three fundamental objectives. First, it is the establishment of “smart governance” and improving the quality of municipal services. Secondly, it is the creation of integral model of development, which would guarantee a decent life at least several generations of citizens. And thirdly, this organization of high quality habitat.
“To achieve these goals, we launch the system of strategic management of the city, forming the city Center of strategic management and Directorate of urban development. Also in the near future we will have own Institute for the development of the urban environment and the municipal interdepartmental Committee responsible for planning development of territories and infrastructure, updating of databases on land areas of the city. This will enable a comprehensive approach to the development of territories at the level of neighborhoods and streets”, — he added.
The Governor paid special attention to the fact that the development of the city will only occur through an integrated land, chiseled buildings will be prohibited.
“The most vivid examples of this approach — “city of the future in Zavolzhye”: the construction of modern, brand new neighborhoods “Aerotropolis” and “Sky City”. Ulyanovsk — aviation capital of Russia, and we try to make the microenvironment of the city was all “soaked” aviation”, — he explained.
While in the city development strategy will be focused on the preservation of the historical appearance of Ulyanovsk, including increased requirements to maintain the historical appearance, quality of construction, appearance of architectural objects. “Our city is associated with the names of such historical figures as Karamzin, Goncharov, Davydov. In our city Lenin was born. We try to keep everything connected with the names of these important historical figures,” concluded Morozov.
International forum “Smart city of the future” organized by MIA “Russia today”. The forum participants discuss models of urban growth, issues of transformation of urban areas, interaction between government, business and citizens in city governance, energy efficiency in housing and communal services, transportation systems, barrier-free urban environment, development of social and environmental responsibility. A key objective of the event was the demonstration of the status and assessment of prospects of innovative development of cities.
