The draft statement was prepared by the Duma Committee on international Affairs in connection with the terrorist attacks in France. As noted in the document, the MPs “share the feelings of sorrow of the people of France and the compassion of family and friends of the many victims of the unprecedented scale and brutality of the terrorist attacks of militants of the terrorist organization “Islamic state” in Paris”. They were preceded by terrorist acts in the middle East and North Africa. Russian parliamentarians are convinced that there is a need to unite the efforts of the entire international community against terrorism. “Only such a Union will stop growing before our eyes terror,” they write in the draft statement.

Deputies of the state Duma emphasize that if not taken immediate and effective measures, including military nature, chaos in the middle East and North Africa threatens to overwhelm the wave of violence and terror of the neighboring States and regions of the world.
“The terrorists calling themselves Islamic state, declared war against not only Syria and Iraq, but France and other States involved in counter-terrorism operations.
