More than 52% of the total gas in the Czech Republic now comes from Russia, and the future supply of Russian energy resources to the Czech Republic will remain at a high level, stated trade representative of the Russian Federation in the Czech Republic, Sergei Stupar.
MOSCOW, Nov 17. Supply of Russian energy resources to the Czech Republic in the future will remain at a high level, viable alternatives in Europe, said in an interview with trade representative of the Russian Federation in the Czech Republic, Sergei Stupar.
“More than 52% of the total gas in the Czech Republic now comes from Russia, and the future supply of Russian energy resources to the Czech Republic will remain high, including because there are no real alternatives to Europe does not have,” said Stupar.
At the same time, he said that “across Europe there is a tendency towards diversification of gas supply, this trend affects and the Czech Republic”. In particular, “this is due to the fact that now Saudi Arabia began to supply the European market with cheap liquefied gas terminals in Poland”, explained the trade representative.
In addition part of the gas, the Czech Republic can obtain from Germany through the construction of new connecting elements between the different European gas pipelines, said the trade representative.
“At the same time the Czechs built on the territory of the country’s large gas storage facilities, the largest of which will be launched in 2016. At the same time they are building it with the help of specialists of Gazprom and Russian suppliers,” said Stupar.
