Appointed British Ambassador to Russia Laurie Bristow previously served as Director for the national security of the UK foreign office. To his duties he will start in January 2016, said the Minister.
LONDON, 18 Nov. Maria Tobacco. New British Ambassador to the Russian Federation appointed Laurie Bristow (Bristow Laurie), who previously held the post of Director of the national security Ministry of foreign Affairs.
“Dr. Laurie Bristow was appointed Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the Russian Federation in place of sir Tim barrow, which will be transferred to another diplomatic post. To his duties Dr. Bristow will begin in January 2016”, — stated in the message of the foreign Ministry of Britain.
As Director of national security at the foreign Ministry Bristow has held since 2012 to 2015. Before that, from 2010 to 2012 he was Director of the Department for Eastern Europe and Central Asia in the foreign Ministry. At the Embassy in Moscow Bristow worked in 2007-2010 year, occupying the post of Deputy Ambassador. His track record also — as Ambassador to Baku in 2004-2007.
