MOSCOW, November 18. The Federation Council is ready to consider any proposal by law enforcement agencies and special services to enhance the security of Russians and prevention of terrorist attacks, stated to journalists by the Chairman of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko, answering a question of the correspondent of TASS. “We are ready to consider any offers of law enforcement bodies, special services to enhance the security of our citizens and prevent terrorist acts,” the Senator said.
“First and foremost we are concerned about the national security of our country”
The speaker of Federation Council confirmed on Friday the Federal and regional legislators will hold a meeting on which will discuss measures to combat terrorism. “We, as Federal legislators, along with regional legislators can do a lot together in terms of improving legislation in the sphere of fight against terrorism,” said the Senator, adding that speech can go about tightening the rules. According to her, it will be the first coordination meeting for consolidation of the efforts not only of the Parliament, Federal, regional, and civil society institutions. “All those who can contribute to the fight against terrorism, development of measures for its prevention”, – she specified.

Matvienko announced that at a joint meeting of parliamentarians and public representatives plan to discuss “the wide range of actions that need to take in Russia”. “First and foremost we are concerned about the national security of our country and our citizens”, – said the Senator. “One without the power of communities to cope effectively with this problem,” she concluded.
About the conduct of the chambers of the Federal Assembly joint meetings earlier informed the speaker of the state Duma Sergey Naryshkin. “On Friday we are planning to hold a joint session of the two chambers of the Federal Assembly with participation of heads of regional legislative assemblies, representatives of religions, representatives of several community youth organizations. According to the speaker of the Federation Council, to the joint struggle of Russia and France terrorism will soon join other countries. “The presidents of Russia and France are already in close contact, that is, since yesterday, we started our coordination in action against terrorists in Syria”, – said Matvienko, commenting on the agreements between the presidents of two countries Vladimir Putin and Francois Hollande. However, she added that “this coordination will be strengthened”. “And I’m sure that such coordination will connect and other States,” added the Senator.
