The head of the Kremlin administration Sergei Ivanov also called on the IRS to improve the efficiency of interaction with other agencies.

MOSCOW, 20 Nov. The head of the Kremlin administration Sergey Ivanov urged to seek new forms of interaction with taxpayers, helping to improve their literacy.

Speaking at the expanded Board of Federal tax service, he noted that the tax authorities have been and remain an important link in the system of public administration, and the Federal tax service continues to play a key role in the implementation of a number of important functions. However, he noted that much remains to be done.

“First of all, you need to improve the working methods of the service. Actively apply best practices, including isoorientin approaches, mechanisms of pre-trial settlement of disputes and pre-tax control of the use of modern information technology in tax administration at the service of taxpayers,” he said.

All this, according to Ivanov, will positively affect the business climate in Russia.

“We should look for new forms of interaction with taxpayers, help to improve tax literacy. For example, would teach entrepreneurs more efficiently to complete your tax returns and avoid technical mistakes resulting in additional taxes, penalties and interest,” — said Ivanov.

He also noted the need to further enhance the effectiveness of control measures, noting that it is necessary to improve the system of criteria of tax risks, which are now the basis for the appointment of field audits.

“And, finally, should become more effective interagency cooperation… His goal is prevention, the prevention and detection of tax crimes and money laundering. It is important to continue the exchange of analytical information, including assessing existing and potential risks and threats in the tax area,” said Ivanov.

He also presented awards to the employees of the tax service.
