Medvedev signed a decree on procurement of software for government agencies


Customers will be required to limit purchases of Russian ON except when the software with the required characteristics absent in Russia.

MOSCOW, 20 Nov. Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev signed a decree according to which from January 1, 2016, agencies will have to purchase the software from the special register of the Russian software (SW), the corresponding document is published on the website of the Cabinet of the Russian Federation on Friday.

“Customers will be required to limit purchases of Russian. The exception is cases where software with the necessary functional, technical and (or) performance in Russia is absent”, — is spoken in the explanatory statements to the document.

Earlier, the signing of this resolution was reported by the newspaper “Kommersant”.

As reported on the website of the government of the Russian Federation, the Russian will be recognized as software, which is included in the register.

The resolution also approves the rules of formation of the register, which defines “the grounds of the exclusive rights of the copyright holder, conditions for inclusion of such information in the register, and their removal from the register, the procedure for providing information included in the registry, the procedure for making a decision on the inclusion of such information in the registry”.

The decisions aimed at implementation of sectoral programs of import substitution.
