Experience of General Charles de Gaulle and Soviet experience suggest recipes to effectively combat terrorism, banditry and crime, said the leader of the CPRF Gennady Zyuganov.

MOSCOW, 20 Nov. Joint meeting of the Council of Federation and the State Duma, dedicated to the fight against terrorism, will give a good impetus to the recovery of the situation in the sphere of work of the security agencies and the support of effective social policy, said the leader of the CPRF Gennady Zyuganov.

“I think this meeting will give a good push in the right direction — recovery situation from the point of view of law enforcement agencies, and support effective socio-economic policy,” Zyuganov told reporters before the joint session of the two houses.

He noted that the experience of General Charles de Gaulle and Soviet experience suggest recipes to effectively combat terrorism, gangsterism and crime.

The members of the Federation Council and deputies of the State Duma will hold on 20 November a joint meeting of both chambers of the Russian Parliament, which is planned to adopt a statement on terrorism. According to the speaker of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko, during a joint Assembly of senators and deputies of the state Duma will prepare recommendations to the government in the sphere of combating terrorism.

State Duma speaker Sergei Naryshkin, in turn, has stated that the issues of joining efforts in the fight against terrorism and extremism will be discussed together with representatives of faiths and representatives from several community organizations. During the meeting will be heads of all four parliamentary factions.
