During the conversation with Egyptian Ambassador to Russia Mohamed Elbadri was held an exchange of views on developments in the middle East region, with emphasis on the problems of settlement of the conflict in Syria, said the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Russia.
MOSCOW, 24 Nov. Deputy foreign Minister of Russia Mikhail Bogdanov has discussed with Egyptian Ambassador to Russia Mohamed Elbadri perspectives of settlement of the Syrian crisis in the context of the implementation of the agreements in Vienna, said in a statement the Russian foreign Ministry on Tuesday.
“During the meeting held a thorough exchange of views on developments in the middle East region, with emphasis on the problems of settlement of the Syrian crisis in the context of the implementation of the agreements reached in Vienna in the framework of the International support group in Syria. Were also discussed issues of further strengthening the traditionally friendly Russian-Egyptian relations”, — the document says.
In mid-November in Vienna hosted the second round of the “Vienna group” on the issue of the Syrian settlement. Participation in negotiations took part the representatives of Russia, USA, UN, France, UK, Germany, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Iran and other regional players, as well as the representatives of the EU, the Arab League and the Organization of Islamic cooperation.
Participants of the international meeting on Syria in Vienna decided that the negotiations of the government and opposition should take place no later than 1 January of the following year, and within 18 months in the Republic of an election under the new Constitution.
