SOCHI, November 24. The Russian bomber was shot down over Syrian territory by a missile “air – air” with a Turkish F-16 aircraft, when he was at the height of 6 thousand meters at the distance of 1 km from the Turkish border.
This statement was made by the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin at a meeting with Jordan’s king Abdullah II.
Russian su-24 was not threatening Turkey, he carried out the operation against ISIL (Islamic state – ISIS, prohibited in the Russian Federation extremist group) in Syria, said the head of state. “In any case, our pilots, our aircraft in no way threatened the Republic of Turkey. This is an obvious thing. They have conducted operations against ISIS,” said Putin.
He noted that the Russian bomber had acted in a mountainous part of Northern Latakia, “where the militants are mainly from the Russian Federation.” “And in this sense they (the pilots) lived up to its main task,” stressed the President of Russia, explaining that we are talking about preemptive strikes on terrorists, which at any moment can return to Russia.
A stab in the back
According to the President, the crashed su-24 goes beyond fighting terrorism; it is a blow that struck the Russian Federation in the back the accomplices of the terrorists, Putin said. “Today’s loss is connected with the blow that struck us in the back accomplices of terrorism. Otherwise I can’t qualify what happened today,” said the Russian leader.

The Turkish General staff has released their data on the route of flight of the Russian su-24 in Syria
The Russian Federation has long recorded deliveries of crude oil to Turkey from parts of Syria, captured by terrorists, Putin said. “We have long revealed the fact that Turkey is a large amount of oil and oil products with ISIS occupied territories,” he said. According to him, hence there was “big money fueling gangs”. “Now strikes us in the back, the attacks on our aircraft in the fight against terrorism,” continued Putin.
According to him, the attack of Turkey on the Russian su-24 happened despite the fact that “we with the American partners signed the agreement on prevention of incidents in the air, and Turkey, as you know, among those who have announced that they are supposedly fighting terrorism as part of the American coalition.”
“If they, ISIS, the money – and the account goes on tens, hundreds of millions, maybe billions of dollars – by trading oil, plus they have the protection of armed forces of entire Nations, then it is clear why they behave so boldly and blatantly, why do they kill people in the most horrific ways, why they are committing terrorist acts worldwide, including in the heart of Europe”, – Putin said.
He pointed out that the appeal of Turkey to the NATO partners in connection with the incident with the Russian aircraft is like trying to put the Alliance on the service the is. The Russian leader said that after the incident with the bomber “instead of immediately with us to establish the desired contact, as far as we know, the Turkish side appealed to its NATO partners to discuss this issue.” “It’s as if we shot down a Turkish plane and not they ours,” asks Putin. “They want to put NATO in the service of ISIS?” – the President noted.
Russia will not tolerate such crimes
Russia will not tolerate such crimes, like the attack on the Russian su-24, the President stressed. “Of course, we carefully analyze what happened, and today’s tragic event would have serious consequences for Russian-Turkish relations,” he said.

Putin stressed that Russia always belonged to Turkey not just as a close neighbor, but as a friendly state. “I don’t know who needed what done today, at least not for us”, – said the Russian leader.
“I understand that each state has its own regional interests, and we always treat them with respect. But we will never tolerate, to such crimes as it is today,” said Putin. He expressed the hope that “the international community still find the strength to unite in the fight against this common threat (of terrorism)”.
In turn the king of Jordan expressed his condolences to Putin in connection with the recent tragic events, including the death of a Russian military pilot in Syria. “I would like to Express my condolences on my own behalf and on behalf of the people of Jordan in connection with the barbaric terrorist terrible tragedy that resulted in the death of innocent people in the crash (of the aircraft “Kogalymavia” over the Sinai), would like to Express my condolences for the loss of your pilot today,” he said.
