Russia does not accept to change unsuitable governments as a result of outside influence, only the people of Syria should determine their destiny and choose their own government, said state Duma speaker Sergei Naryshkin at a meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister, foreign Minister of Syria Walid Muallem.
“In principle, our position was and remains unchanged. We do not accept changing undesirable governments as a result of outside influence, the influence of third forces, third countries. Only the Syrian people should determine their destiny and choose their own government,” — said Naryshkin.
“Speaking about the restoration of peace in Syria, we believe it is important to work intensively on the track of a political dialogue of all political forces in Syria. And in this respect we attach great importance to the formation of the international stage, the Vienna site in the form of the international support group Syria,” he added.
