Lavrov: the Turkish leadership has crossed a line valid

The Senator noted that after the tragedy with the Russian bomber and the refusal of Turkey to admit the guilt, “a General deterioration of bilateral relations” was inevitable. In addition a clear signal to Ankara, this step will also be the means of strengthening the national security of the Russian Federation, stressed Kosachev, due to “the growing feeling is much closer relations of Turkey with the “terrorist international” than it seemed before”.

“Such relationships inevitably lead to the penetration of extremist elements in Turkey and its use in the interests of the terrorist suppression of “undesirable” countries. The tightening of the visa regime in such cases is an integral part of a system of measures to ensure their own national security,” – said the Senator.

Everyone knows that Turkey is a transit country for terrorists, especially terrorists from the ISIL (the former name is forbidden in the Russian Federation the terrorist organization “Islamic state – ed.) “, – said the Deputy in an interview with TV channel “Russia 1”.

“So we block off a small stream of people who can go there (to the middle East) to fight on the side of ISIL from Russia, and a possible stream of people who may pose a risk to our security, including people who are able to carry out terrorist acts on the territory of the Russian Federation”, – said Pushkov. He also has noticed that statements of the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan “reflect his confusion”.

“Every day he says a different thing: he didn’t know whose plane it is, that he consciously went for it, because Russian aircraft had violated their airspace,” he said.

“Now the ball is on the side of our Turkish colleagues. The President (Russian Federation) clearly defined – if we hear the right apology and (see) the punishment of those who caused this situation… if it does not, of course, the situation would not be very good for both countries”, – considers Gilmutdinov. “I hope that our Turkish colleagues will find the strength and courage and will not to think that the whole world will be to justify them. If they understand that it is not, then, hope that they themselves recognize their mistakes, and we will continue to build normal relations. This is important both for them and for us,” he concluded.
