PARIS, November 30. Russia has reason to believe that the Russian su-24 was shot down to protect the illegal oil supply from Syria to Turkey. This was announced by the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, answering journalists ‘ questions upon completion of their program at the Climate summit in Paris.

Putin stressed that, in particular, the continuing financial support of terrorists in Syria. “We obtained additional data confirming that the oil controlled by the ISIL (the former name “Islamic state”, an organization banned in Russia), this oil on an industrial scale flows to Turkey”, – said Putin.
“And we have every reason to believe that the decision over whether to shoot down our plane was dictated by the desire to ensure the safety of these routes for the delivery of this oil to ports where it is shipped in tankers,” said he.
“Protection is only a pretext,” – said Putin.

According to Putin, he did not meet with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan at the summit in Paris.

The attack on the Russian su-24M
November 24, fighter from the Turkish air force F-16 shot down Russian bomber su-24M, which, according to Ankara, had violated the country’s airspace near the border with Syria.
The crew of a military aircraft managed to eject, but one of the two pilots was killed by ground fire. The second pilot was rescued. In search of the pilots was attended by two helicopters Mi-8. One of the cars came under fire and made an emergency landing. One marine soldier was killed.
In the Russian defense Ministry said the su-24M was extremely over Syrian territory, and that violations of its airspace was not.
Vladimir Putin warned that the attack on the bomber would have “serious consequences” for Russian-Turkish relations. According to the head of state, the Turkish air force attack on the Russian plane involved in anti-terrorist operations in Syria and posed a threat to Turkey, is a “stab in the back” of Russia.
