MOSCOW, November 30. The Ministry of agriculture has prepared and submitted to the government a draft decree establishing a ban on the importation of some agricultural products from Turkey. This is stated on the Ministry’s website.
“In the list of food that suggested to extend the embargo to include a portion of the goods previously came to Russia from Turkey”, – stated in the message. The final food list will be published after the signing of the corresponding decree of the government.

Putin signed a decree on application of special economic measures in relation to Turkey
The President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin on November 28 signed a decree “On measures for safeguarding national security of the Russian Federation and the protection of citizens from criminal and other unlawful acts and on application of special economic measures against the Turkish Republic.” A document including a ban or restriction on imports from Turkey of certain goods, the list of which will be determined by the government.
According to the Ministry of agriculture of the Russian Federation, in 2014 the import of food and agricultural products from Turkey to Russia amounted to $ 1.7 billion and remained at the level of the previous year. Thus in the total Russian food imports to Turkey accounted for 4%. The main imports from Turkey to Russia in terms of value were fruit and vegetables, and nuts. According to the Ministry of agriculture, for the first 10 months of 2015 the import of agricultural products and food from Turkey in value terms amounted to us $1,035 billion, which is 21.2% less than in the same period of 2014.
