Russian air transport operators Association, the largest industry Association, founded in November 1991 as an organization of aviation enterprises and civil aviation of the USSR.
Members of the Association are 28 Russian airlines (more than 80% of transportations in Russia, the Aeroflot group in the first nine months of 2015 accounted for 35.2% of the passengers). The task of the Russian air transport operators Association – development and realization of uniform policy in civil aviation. President, Russian air transport operators Association from may 2014 is Volodymyr Tasun.
Tsun and the representative of “Aeroflot” on Thursday has not responded to the requests of the newspaper. But, according to sources of the edition, “Aeroflot” from the Russian air transport operators Association “was long overdue”. During the year, the Association left its subsidiaries “Donavia”, “Orenburg airlines” and “Russia”.
According to interlocutors of the newspaper, “Aeroflot” self-defended “their major interests and collective voice is not really needed”. One exception was the question of state support UTair and Transaero, which was discussed in the beginning of the year. Then “Aeroflot” and S7 combined position and offered on behalf of the government of the Russian air transport operators Association a number of measures to resolve any problems that could arise with the care of distressed companies.
The situation in the Russian air transport operators Association worsened in the fall with the departure of “Transaero”, explains one of the sources.
“In a situation when half of the market actually departed the state-owned companies (“Aeroflot”), Russian air transport operators Association began sounding rather sharp statements and clearly not in support of “Aeroflot”,- he said. Such a position seems logical, since the Russian air transport operators Association and includes other companies, also counting on its share of the market.”
So, the harsh reaction of the Association called uncontested transfer “to Aeroflot” the most profitable overseas routes, “Transaero” – as compensation for the removal of the airline’s passengers.
A source close to the situation, explained that “the output of “Aeroflot” from the Association is not as catastrophic as it may seem”. “In the new composition of the Russian air transport operators Association will be able to more effectively defend the interests of its members, without regard to the biggest player, and so have considerable lobbying resources,” he said.
