MOSCOW, December 4. A group of deputies of the state Duma – former prosecutors – have signed on Friday a statement in support of the Russian Prosecutor General Yuri Chaika and criticized the attempts to discredit him and to speak the “language concepts”.

The website of the Fund of struggle against corruption on 1 December published an investigation about the business sons Seagulls. In particular, it says that one of them allegedly owned Greek hotel, besides the sons of the public Prosecutor are allegedly shareholders in two key companies of Russian Railways. Chaika called the accusations false and has promised to announce who was behind this so-called investigation.
Parliamentarians in his statement described the Seagull as “one of the best attorneys General in the last 10-15 years, which put a really huge contribution to the development of Russia as a legal state”, told reporters one of the signatories, a member of the state Duma Committee for security and combating corruption Anatoly Election. “Just pick it up and tarnish is not quite correct. If there are specific offences or other offences, may be reported to the competent authorities, and not engaged in populism,” he advised.
Commenting on “the shadow that is thrown at the address of Yuri Yakovlevich Chaika, that his family is in some kind of criminal business”, the MP stressed that “it is impossible to speak the language of concepts”. “We can speak only the language of law,” he said.

Elective stressed that in recent years the Seagull “from the point of view of the Prosecutor’s supervision did a great job on a number of fronts – from the point of view of control over execution of social obligations, both by the state and business in respect of workers of the enterprises”. “A lot of initiatives have been supported by the General Prosecutor’s office and for the implementation of the UN Convention against corruption and the implementation of some of the provisions that we have been offered by GRECO (Group of States against corruption),” – said United Russia.
Election noted that “in the Parliament there are many former prosecutors that can respond, assess the situation”. “Therefore, expressed such a stance in their support of Yuri Yakovlevich Chaika”, he concluded.
Earlier on Friday it became known that the Fund of struggle against corruption, filed a lawsuit on protection of honor and dignity to a Seagull.
