MOSCOW, 8 Dec. The need to amend the Constitution of the Russian Federation will not occur in the foreseeable future, convinced the Federation Council speaker Valentina Matvienko.
“Since the adoption of the Constitution 22 the need to amend the Constitution has not arisen and will not arise in the foreseeable future,” she said on air of Russian news service.
The potential of the Constitution is far from being exhausted, said Matvienko. “The focus should be not on changing it, and to use its potential. Point adjustments have been made, but they do not change the spirit and letter of the basic law,” she said.
