MOSCOW, December 9. Regional authorities need to bring order to the benefits for former senior regional officials, said Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev in an interview with Russian TV channels.

“About regions. By region there was a decision to pay out all sorts of different bonuses and the state apparatus, the former, senior officials from the local regional budget. It is up to the regions. I think the region needs to be honest to admit to its citizens. If they had absolutely an outstanding leader of the region, need to come out and say, “We want to leave to him the contents, car, cottage”. But if people are against it, then these benefits should be reduced”, – said the Prime Minister
In this case, Medvedev noted that the decision to reduce such benefits must come from regional authorities, not the Federal government.
“We will give the regions a recommendation. Here it is necessary to restore order, but local authorities must take the liberty,” said the Prime Minister.
