MOSCOW, December 9. “AF a Telecom holding” (part of the holding of Alisher Usmanov and his partners USM) was laid by in the savings Bank 52% minus 1 share of MegaFon. This is stated in the unified Federal register of information on facts of activity of legal entities.

Mobile operator “MegaFon” on 4 December signed with Sberbank new revolving credit agreement totaling up to 30 billion rubles for a period of 5 years. The revolving feature of the agreement is that unlike a conventional loan, the borrower may receive loan funds parts inside a set time limit, but not at the same time.
As explained, under this agreement MegaFon attracted a tranche of 15 billion rubles for a period of 3 years at a fixed interest rate. Proceeds from the loan will be used to refinance debt on more expensive rouble-denominated credit obligations maturing in 2016.
The new funding will allow MegaFon to significantly reduce the cost of debt service and lengthen the life of the loan portfolio, commented chief financial officer Gevork Vermishyan.
In addition, MegaFon has signed an additional agreement on credit facilities concluded in 2012. The agreements exclude the possibility of unilateral increase in interest rates by the Bank throughout the term of the loans. In turn, Sberbank raised the rate from 8.6% to 10.1% per annum on the loan with a limit of $1.5 billion (maturity 2020) and 8.35 per cent to 9.85% on the loan with a limit of $1 billion (maturity 2018).
MegaFon is one of Russia’s leading mobile operators. 50% plus 100 shares of MegaFon owned by the holding Garsdale, controlled by a Holdigns USM Alisher Usmanov. 25,17% of MegaFon, owned by Swedish – Finnish TeliaSonera Group, EUR 7.57% – 100-percentage “a daughter” operator Megafon Investments Ltd, 2,5% – Anfimako Ltd Ivan Tavrina (the General Director of “MegaFon”).
Net profit of “MegaFon” under IFRS in the 1st quarter of 2015 increased compared to the same period last year by 2.4% and amounted to 7.4 billion roubles. Revenue in the reporting period decreased by 1.2% to 73.9 billion rubles.
