It is expected that at the meeting the Minister of foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov and the President of Italy, Sergio Mattarella will discuss the fight against terrorism and the situation in Syria, Libya and Ukraine.
ROME, 11 Dec. The Minister of foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov meets with the President of Italy Sergio Mattarella.
“Visit to Rome with foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov began talks with the President of Italy S. Matarelli”, — wrote in Facebook, the official representative of the Russian foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova.

As reported earlier, the Russian foreign Ministry, it is expected that the sides will discuss the fight against terrorism and the situation in Syria, Libya and Ukraine. The Russian side is expected to make emphasis on the necessity to unite efforts of the international community to suppress global terrorist threat and interaction in this area on the basis of principles and norms of international law, the UN Charter, without politicization or double standards.
On Friday Lavrov will also meet with his Italian counterpart Paolo Gentiloni will participate at the conference on the problems of the Mediterranean, one of the main topics will be the strengthening of terrorist threat on European content.
