SIMFEROPOL, December 14. Two drilling rigs “Chernomorneftegaz” were towed from the Odessa gas field to the coast of the Crimea because of the increased terrorist threat in international waters.

“These installations were at the Odessa gas field. It is in international waters with an uncertain international status. At the direction of the head of the Republic Sergey Aksenov in connection with the increased terrorist threat we were instructed to move them into the territorial waters of Russia”, – he explained.
Earlier it was reported that the ship under the Turkish flag tried to stop the movement of installations into the territorial waters of the Russian Federation.
Two drilling rigs (In-and 312-319) with a total value of over 25 billion roubles were towed at the end of November. “The installation was located about 180 km from the coast, at a distance from territorial waters, their safety was difficult to achieve,” – said Shabanov.
As reported earlier, the press service of the company, moving one of the rigs tried to stop the ship under the Turkish flag. “Acting in violation of the international regulations for preventing collisions at sea and generally accepted norms of Maritime navigation, a Turkish vessel has not given way to the caravan, reaching cross the course, and attempted to stop on the way to its destination, than deliberately created an emergency situation. In radio communication with vessels escort the captain of Turkish ship had entered, not answering the calls”, – explained in the “Chernomorneftegaz”.
To resolve the situation helped patrol boat of the Border service of the FSB and missile boat black sea fleet, which “forced the ship under the flag of the Turkish Republic to change course in the safe transportation of the caravan.” In the border Service of the FSB, the incident has not yet commented on.

Odessa field, as Unnamed, located on the shelf of the Black sea became Russian after Crimea rejoined the Russian Federation following a referendum in March 2014.

The General Director of “Chernomorneftegaz” reported that the company continued gas production at the Odesa field, despite the terrorist threat.
