MOSCOW, 15 Dec –. Russia is not trying to compete with the US in Latin America, said in an interview with the Director of the Latin American Department of the Russian foreign Ministry Alexander Shchetinin.
“I can’t speak for the United States, but we have our own agenda in the region. We have our own approach to Latinos, and we see that this approach is appreciated. We are not trying there anyone to compete and be political, economic, and humanitarian niche in the region is very wide, and we have something to offer Latinos,” — said Shchetinin.
According to Shchetinin, there are a number of areas where cooperation between Russia with Latin America is “absolutely pragmatic and mutually beneficial”.
“Yes, the intensity of contacts depending on the type of the government – that we are realistic, but ready and open to cooperation with all political forces, and those in turn — they are really the majority in the region are ready to cooperate with us.
