Relations between Russia and Belarus are of strategic nature, said the Russian President. The Belarusian leader, assessing the talks, said that he “absolutely trusts” his Russian counterpart.

MOSCOW, Dec 15. The President of Russia Vladimir Putin said that the talks with President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko traditionally held in business and constructive manner.

“Negotiations with President of Belarus during his first re-election to the post of the head of state’s official visit to Russia were held in a traditionally business-like and constructive manner,” Putin said after the negotiations.

He also underlined that relations of Russia and Belarus are of strategic nature.

“At their core a strong tradition of friendship, mutual respect, good neighborliness between the two fraternal peoples. Interested in the multifaceted Russian-Belarusian cooperation was developing dynamically in all directions”, — said the President of the Russian Federation.

In turn, the Belarusian leader, assessing the talks, said that he “absolutely trusts” his Russian counterpart.

“Today Vladimir Putin signed a joint statement which reaffirmed the basic principles of the comprehensive strategic partnership of our countries, defines the priorities of development of Belarusian-Russian relations. I again want to emphasize the constructive nature of the talks. We have no closed topics for discussion, absolutely not. We absolutely trust each other and openly talk and Express our point of view on the negotiations”, — Lukashenka said.

He added that he expects cooperation. “I’m sure it will be”, — said the President of Belarus.
