Issue cards of the national payment system “the World” began in Russia. The first cards released Gazprombank, MDM Bank, Moscow industrial Bank, Svyaz-Bank, RNCB, “Russia” and SMP Bank.
MOSCOW, Dec 15. The Bank of Russia and the national payment card system (nvqs) announced the start of emission of the first maps of “the World” seven Russian banks, according to a press release from the NPCs.
The first banks that issued the cards of the national payment system “World”, steel Gazprombank, MDM Bank, Moscow industrial Bank, Svyaz-Bank, operating in Crimea, RNCB, and also sanctioned Bank Rossiya and SMP Bank.
The second group of 21 of the Bank-participant of the pilot project already started testing the cards “the World” and plans to complete it before the end of 2015. Next year the banks will begin to disclose its acquiring network and will start issuing the cards.
“Start of issue cards of the national payment system “World” is an important stage of development of the Russian financial system and ensuring its sovereignty… We believe that the Russian payment system will be successful and demanded by consumers and banks” — presented in an accompanying commentary, the words of the Chairman of the Central Bank Olga Skorobogatova.
“Now we plan to focus on the following priority objectives — ensure the widest possible geography of reception of cards, and on preparing for the start of mass production of the cards “the World” in the second half of next year”, — noted in turn the General Director of nvqs Vladimir Komlev.
Participants in the payment system “the World” at the moment become 35 Russian banks, including Sberbank, Alfa Bank and others.
