MOSCOW, 16 Dec./strong>. St. Petersburg international economic forum (SPIEF) in cooperation with the Russian export centre (REC) and the Agency for strategic initiatives (ASI) launches a series of events “Regions of Russia: new points of growth” aimed at increasing investment opportunities, development of export potential of the regions and promotion of specific territories. By the end of April 2016 has planned seven sessions in different Federal districts. The first event in the series will take place on Friday, December 24, in Nizhny Novgorod, according to the organizers.
“The main topics of the session of the forum in Nizhny Novgorod will be the development of existing and new regional projects attractive from the investment point of view and with export potential. During the session the participants will be presented a new platform for the promotion of specific projects in the exhibition SPIEF Investment Projects, which will be held at the St. Petersburg international economic forum on 16-18 June 2016”, — said in a joint press release of Recongress, REC and ASI.
According to Director General of ASI Andrei Nikitin, the Russian regions there are many promising projects and companies that can grow into a big business and to access global markets.
“The emergence of a new platform which will give entrepreneurs opportunities for promotion and presentation at the St. Petersburg international economic forum, will promote increase of investment attractiveness not only of specific projects but also the country as a whole”, — said Nikitin, whose words are in the press release.
In turn, the General Director of the Russian export center Petr Fradkov skazal that such regional events allow us to establish working contact with enterprises in Russian regions with export potential, and bring them to a new stage of development
“It is very important for us indicator: increase in the number of new exporters in noncommodity sectors. This is our main task, which will eventually lead to the increase of non-oil exports and to expand into global markets,” said Fradkov, who was quoted in the press release.
